Taken on a (borrowed) Leica M9.
Thanks to a tip on fortheloveofbrooklyn.com, I was able to test out a Leica M9 for the day at the New York Photo Festival in Dumbo, Brooklyn. This is the first time I've shot with a rangefinder and it was quite an experience. I felt like I was just getting the hang of using it by the time I had to give it back, and by then I was very tempted to just run off with it.
One of the things I loved is the viewfinder, which is huge & bright. Rather then show the exact field-of-view for the lens attached like an SLR, rangefinders always show the same full wide view regardless of the lens. This allows you to see what's going on outside the frame and better anticipate the shot.
